As a Part-Time Social Media Assistant at The Bronx Museum of The Arts, I worked closely with the Deputy Director, curators, and education staff members to create and implement weekly social media content and campaigns around programs, events, artists featured, and Bronx Museum activities and news. I joined the museum during a significant transitional period for the marketing and communications department, coinciding with the museum's launch of a new brand identity and website.
Onboarding at this critical juncture required me to quickly understand and adapt to the new brand identity. I actively collaborated with team members to ensure that all social media content consistently reflected the museum's refreshed image and messaging. This involved not only promoting the museum's offerings but also finding innovative ways to foster engagement and connection with our audience, leveraging the new brand identity.
Simultaneously, I stayed up to date with the latest social media trends and platforms to keep our strategies current and effective. By integrating new trends like reels/videos with our new brand guidelines, I helped enhance the museum's online presence, driving greater visibility and community interaction; Resulting in a growth from 36,700 to 42,900 followers on Instagram. My role has been pivotal in maintaining the museum's relevance and appeal in the digital space during this transformative phase.
